Wow November Is Almost Gone

Well I am back to work and Lyndsey has been to Africa and is home since I last wrote. I am glad that she is home but I want her to do what the Lord wants her to do. While in Africa Lyndsey work at a pre-school, she loved the children. They are like all children they fight over toys and tease each other. She has many stories to tell. Toby and Shelby found out that they are having a boy. We are so excited about him. March won't get here soon enough. Douglas is working all the time. I hate it because I don't get to see him very much.

I am so thankful to have my husband and children. The Lord is so faithful to us.

Update to taylor's house

Wow! What a week.
Monday I had to be taken by ambulance to our local hospital then transferred to The Heart Center in Indy. I had a heart cath done and they found no blockage. My potassium level was real low. That is what caused the symptoms of a heart attack.

Tuesday I came home from the hospital.

Wednesday I started running a temperature of 102.8 and then on the left side of my abdominal turned red like if I have been sunburned.

Thursday Ray and I both went to the Doctor. I had to have a CAT Scan done. They did not find any fluid or infection from my past surgery. They did find that I have another hernia and feel that the redness is a skin infection. Ray Doctor's appointment all they did was increase his medicine. He is going to see a spine doctor in 2 weeks. I hope that they can find something to give him some relief.

Friday Lyndsey left this morning to go to Africa for 6 weeks. She called from Washington DC. She had a 2 hour lay over before her 14 hour flight to Africa.

First Week Back To Work

I made it! I worked all week and have been doing a little bit of everything. I have been a cashier, customer service desk, fabric department, and the fitting room. I was amazed at how much has changed at the front end. Today was the best of all week. My feet and legs still hurt, but I felt real good today. The Lord has really been giving me strength to work. I still do not have a permanent position yet, but have been learning a lot.

Family Reuion

September 20, 2008

Today was the famous Abston's family reunion. My Dad's has 2 sister and 1 brother who are still living. They are the only reason that I go and also enjoy being with my sister's and brother's children. My sister Rita puts alot of time into planning this and helping with the one who is suppose to be in charge. Rita has a friend who plays a keyboard and sings. He does a good job, I forgot to mention that he is blind. We always have an auction of the white elephant gifts that each family brings. The money we make helps pay for the building we rent also supplies.

My nephew Joe was able to bring his baby, he is so cute. He was born 3 months early and weighed just a little over 1 pound. He is still real small. This was my first time seeing him.

My nephew Joshua was there with his wife and baby. She is 1 year old and can walk all over the place. I was so glad to see them.

Donnie, Travis, Melissia, and their children were there. Travis does a good job helping with the cooking and the auction.

Melissia has adopted 3 children, which makes here have 6 plus she has 2 other foster children, a total of 8. They are behaved so well.

Aunt Faye and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were there. Teresa was the one who did the planning this year. She did a good job. She said that is was all ours next year! Well until next year.

Update

September 19, 2008
Lyndsey will be going to Africa in about 13 days. She received an e-mail today from the Lady who is in charge of the work that Lyndsey will be doing when she gets there. They will be visiting 4 different towns and the cost for transportation is going to be a lot higher than she expected. Lyndsey has been working so hard to save money for this mission trip. Please pray that the Lord will provide. He has been so faithful with all of our needs and knows what we need.
I went to the Doctor today and she said that I could go back to work. I really want and need to go back, but nervous about it. I still am having some pain and my incisions are not completely healed. When I called work and told them that I would be able to be there Monday, they were excited about it. They still do not know what I will be doing. I hope it will not be too hard.

Ray also went to the Doctor today and they are not sure what is going on with him. They took blood and chest X-rays. After he goes back to the doctor next week, they are going to do a MRI.
Please Pray for Ray, he has been in so much pain.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Luke 12:34

God is so good!

I am feeling so good this morning. I slept a little better last night. It looks like is going to be another nice day. I am planning on getting some more house work done. I would like to get outside. There is lots of work to be done out there too, like clean the deck, mow the yard, take care of the last of the garden stuff. I can think of all the things that need to be done but know that it all can't be done. I am feeling better but get tired real easy. I would like to go back to work next week. I go back to the Doctor Z on Friday, so we will see.

Lyndsey will be leaving for Africa in less than 2 weeks. I love having here at home and she has been a real help during my illness. But I would never want to keep her from doing what the Lord has called her to do. Please pray for her she will be traveling over 14 hours on a plane by herself. Please pray for her mission calling that everything will go as planned.

Toby and Shelby went to the Doctor and got to hear the baby's heart for the first time. They are so excited. I am excited also, In November she will be having an ultrasound and they would like me to go with them. I hope that it works out so I can.

My sister Darlene's husband passed away 2 weeks ago unexpectedly. She seems to be doing ok. I try to talk to her every other day. She lives so far away and I know that she has her daughters living close by, but us being twins we have always been able to tell each other what we are feeling. I want her to be able to talk to when she needs to. She went back to work this week and I think has helped some. Please pray for her and her family.

Well Lyndsey and I are going out on the porch to have coffee. I want to this as much as I can before she leaves. I don't drink coffee! I will have hot tea!

What A Beautiful Day!

Today is the day that the Lord has made. It was so nice today. I wish that it could stay like this all the time. The Lord knows just what we need! I am starting to feel like my old self, which is good. These last three months have been hard and at times it was hard for me to see the light at the end of tunnel. But I feel like I am finally seeing the light.

My daughter will be leaving for Africa in less than two weeks. She will be gone for five weeks. Please pray for her. She will be traveling by herself and while she is there looking for housing and starting her mission. Lyndsey feels the Lord wants her to go.

Monday Toby and Shelby got to hear the heart beat of the baby. Toby is so excited. He said that he knew that it was a boy because of the fast heart beat. He said just like him. I laughed and said that I knew it was a girl because his heart never beat that fast.

Douglas is still working on 3rd shift, he is hoping in a couple of week he will be going to days. He is planning on moving to Lafayette. I will never see him. With gas being so high I can't blame him for wanting to move closer to his work. I really don't see him much now, but it is nice to know that he is just walking distant now.

Ray has been having a lot of pain this week. He is going to the Doctor this week. I wish that there was more they could do for him.

Well I am hoping to be able to go back to work next week. It will be hard for me but know that the Lord will help me. I still don't know what I will be doing when I go back to work.

Update

I came home from the hospital today! I feel like God has really touched me. I was told I would have to be in the hospital for two weeks and it has only been four days! First time in twenty years I have weighed under 400 pounds. I will be going back and forth to the doctor quite a bit because I have over 200 staples and a surg-vac system.

Please continue to pray for me.

Prayer At Work

May 29Th, 2008

Today my fellow Associates surprised me. There were several of them who came into my office and circled around me, then Brenda lead them in prayer, asking for the Lord to be with me while I have my surgery tomorrow. I could really fill the Lord presence. The Lord has always been faithful to me. I told them all that If the Lord decided that this was my time to go, that I wanted to see them in heaven.

Our Family

May 29, 2008
Today will be my last day at my job. I am having surgery tomorrow and will be off work for several weeks. I am already missing my job and my fellow associates. I ask for your prayers for a speedy recovery. My family will be keeping up on my blog to let everyone know how I am doing. If the Lord decides that this is my time to go home I hope to see you all in heaven.
